Washington, D.C.

An email from Washington, D.C. received today.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,

I wanted to say how awesome I think your movement is!  I'm an Adventist living in the Washington, D.C. area and I wanted to write for your group to pray for a small group we have going out next Saturday night.  Joel Osteen is the pastor of the Largest mega church in North America, I believe his congregation is upwards of 30,000 people, and millions watch him on TV.  He is coming to put on an event at a sports stadium in D.C. next Saturday night, and a small group of us are going to pass out Project Restore magazines on the Sabbath, Steps to Christ, etc.

Please pray for us, there will be 40,000 people attending this event.  Keep up the amazing work on your side of the world!

Your Brother in Christ

All glory to God for the stand this team will make next Saturday night.
Keep them in your prayers please.

Brisbane Report

Heres a quick word from Andrew Paun

Last Sat night we handed out approx. 600 pamphlets and 150 books. There were also a number of DVDs (not sure how many). Some of us had the chance to have some long discussions with some people. Some of the people included an atheist lady and a muslim family that we were sharing with. The muslim family were surprised when we told them that we were christians who don't drink, smoke eat pork etc. since they believe the same. We got the opportunity to share our beliefs about God, Jesus and what it all means to us. There was also a guy who said he would be interest in checking out our church. We will let you know if he does turn up. (Keep them in your prayers)

Overall, there were a lot of people who didn't want to hear anything we had to say BUT at the same time through Gods power we did get the chance to hand out alot of literature. I believe alot of "seeds" were planted that night. On behalf of Salisbury we want to thank you guys for inviting us and organising the event. By Gods grace we plan to make this a regular event for our youth group. Hopefully next time we will see more people turning up on the night. Cheers!

A big thank you to the Salisbury youth and once again Preachingplace.com for turning up and sharing the good word with the people of Brisbane City.

Stay tuned to the events page for the next brisbane dates. (contact us here and let us know when you would like to run an event near you or even in Brissy and well let everyonne else know also)

On Thursday 5th April, a small but devoted group of lay people hit the
streets of Surfer’s Paradise to share Jesus. They were part of the
initiative, ‘I Will Share Jesus’- and that’s exactly what they did. There
was a chaplain, schoolteacher, graphic designer, builder and filmmakers as
part of the team. After getting together near Caville Avenue, we huddled
together for a time of prayer, asking God to prepare the way for us as we
moved amongst the people.
In twos or threes, the groups headed out. Some spoke to people that were
working outside clubs, others spoke to those having a meal, whilst others
spoke to the lonely people that just hang around by themselves. Each
conversation designed to make a friendship, build trust and provide an
invitation to get to know Jesus, through prayer or a Steps to Christ.  Our
team made its way through seedy strip clubs, restaurants and crowded
shops, bringing the good news of Jesus to many people who may not have
heard the good news before, or may just have needed a remnder.
After 3 hours, and handing out countless books, our team came back
together to thank God in prayer for blessing the efforts. For many of the
younger people, it was their first time doing something like this, and
very confronting. But it was also very rewarding. They were inspired to
speak up for the gospel message, and will be doing things like this again.
They have tasted what it means to be a Christian, to share with others the
message that has changed our own lives.

The Goldy crew are keen for more. Go to the events page for more details.

I will share with Sydney City

About 110 people turned out for the night in Sydney.

What a huge blessing the night was for all in attendance, not to mention the many seeds planted. Early estimates are that around 2000 items were placed in the hands of strangers on the night, and many more conversations were had with people that did not want anything.

It was a huge learning experience for all the first timers involved, but you have to start somewhere, and this was certainly jumping in the deep end. People put their faith in Christ on the line and witnessed around Circular Quay from 6.30pm - 10pm, not to mention 4 hours of train time to chat to fellow commuters as they journeyed from Morisset and back again.

Thank you to all involved! To the book donors, the prayer warriors, the friendly foreshore guards and the people that shared the love of Jesus and His gospel, your riches are awaiting you in heaven.

If you have something to share on this event, please post it on this site for all to see.
Stay tuned for the next event.
